Jobs & Internships 2024

3 positions, 4 internships (possibly more) at CENSUS mid-2024. Letter + CV to contact.census@obspm.fr. Unsolicited applications welcome.

We are recruiting 3 engineers, possibly beginners, for the start of the 2024 academic year:

  • "Electronics Engineer" (IE or IR, 13-month fixed-term contract, 2100-2500€/m gross, based in Meudon): design of electronic assemblies using NewSpace COTS, test procedures (in English), user training; embedded electronics (RTOS or Linux-based), good English (B2-C1), space or robotics culture preferred.
  • "Ingénieur Plateau, Ingénieur Système" (IE or IR, CDD 2 ans, renouvelable, 2100-2500€/m gross, à Meudon): space mission modeling tools in python, Matlab/Octave, C++; facilitation of concurrent engineering sessions; good knowledge of space flight dynamics, geometry (quaternions if possible); test and validation culture; oral and written fluency, at least in English (B2-C1).
  • CI/CD Engineer" (IE, 13-month renewable contract): installation of a CI/CD (continuous integration, continuous deployment) strategy for our various projects under git and Gitlab: DOCKS software suite for local or server-based modeling of space missions, systems engineering of nanosatellite projects, maintenance and documentation of tools, including embedded electronics and ground stations (python, C++, ssh, docker, under Linux, Windows or Mac), code performance analyses and optimizations (C++), regression and bug monitoring.
  • (to be confirmed): "On-board astrometry" (IE or IR, 13+ month fixed-term contract, 2100-2500€/m gross, in Meudon): Implementation in C++ of astrometry code for nanosatellite, coding in Python of the infrastructure for compilation, parameterization and exploitation of flight results. Mastery of heterogeneous computing, culture of embedded software and documentation. Good oral (B2) and written (C1) English.

We are also looking for interns for long-term placements (4-6 months):

  • M1/M2 (1 candidate): on-board electronics to continue integration of the FLATSAT, with the support of a new electronics engineer
  • M2: embedded electronics (C++), radio frequency and/or signal processing software (SDR, measurement processing, Python) for the BIRDY nanosatellite
  • M2: flight dynamics for continuous propulsion in DOCKS (python), our open-source software suite for modeling space missions
  • Trainee: re-design of remote-controlled trolley guidance system for BIRDY ground testing
